Welcome to Afrophilia-X
Life Update:
I have always wanted to be an artist and pursue my art but I believe like with many other artists, we have come face to face with the mighty dilemma of what kind of artist we need to be to be successful in this world. I spent all of 2023 deeply reflecting on this question and I believe I have finally found my answer. I employ you to join me on this quest as we collectively unravel new ways to make art, be art and share art.
I am so excited to share my new project and art series “Afrophilia-X”.
Afrophilia-X is an ode to black culture all around the globe but through the eyes of a young Igbo boy (myself). I found myself in the U.S surrounded by complete foreigness and ultimately, this was the greatest gift because it forced me to realign with my true identity outside of all the cultural and societal projections of who I am supposed to be.
I will be sharing all my new art and “content” on my blog, so think of it as a landing place for all things Chu. I promise to be highly controversial and leaving you without a moment of boredom.
Kind regards,
Chu.
