Don’t worry, all the adults terrorizing the world will be dead soon.

16 Jun 2024 Life
Don’t worry, all the adults terrorizing the world will be dead soon.

Ah, the whimsical thoughts of my younger self, whimsically musing, “Don’t worry, the grown-ups terrorizing the planet will soon be pushing up daisies.” I used to whisper to my restless heart, watching the chaos orchestrated by those deemed ‘grown-ups’—a term so loose, yet so constricting. Like many of you, I too was eager to shed my cocoon, to flee the suffocating embrace of a world tethered to the whims of boomers and Gen-Xers. Yes, dear reader, we’re treading that delicate ground.

Let’s face it: our world is a masterpiece riddled with flaws. Humanity, in all its glory, is equally marred by imperfection, and it’s almost a rite of passage for the young to scrutinize the ways of their elders. This cycle is as ancient as time itself, each generation itching to seize control, convinced they’ll steer us to utopia.

Ah, “control,” that seductive fiend. It seems every cataclysm to befall our kind is rooted in this desperate scramble for dominance, often spiraling into atrocities like abuse, subjugation, and, let’s not sugarcoat it, downright Wickedness. So, what becomes of us when those with a vice grip on control vanish into the ether?

I’ll tell you: history repeats itself, birthing a fresh horde of unhealed souls, grappling for power, destined to perpetuate the cycle of calamity. We, as inherently possessive and dogmatic beings, seem doomed to script a saga of turmoil. Yet, how do we break free? How do we mold ourselves into beings worthy of emulation rather than disdain by future generations?

With Love,

Patrick
